Synopsis #
ProFTPD is not included in the OpenBSD 8.0 ports tree or the official amd64 package set. Use a supported FTP server or SFTP when encrypted file access is required.
Installation #
There is no supported package installation procedure here for OpenBSD 8.0. Do not install packages built for a different OpenBSD release to obtain this daemon. A separately maintained source build would require its own compatibility, privilege, update, and TLS review.
Alternatives #
For authenticated encrypted file transfer, use OpenSSH SFTP . For an FTP requirement, consult vsftpd , Pure-FTPd , or the base ftpd(8) chapter and verify package availability for the target release and architecture. Base ftpd does not provide TLS.
