LibreWolf is a modified version of Mozilla Firefox focused on privacy, security, and software freedom. It enhances protections against tracking and fingerprinting, and applies additional hardening compared to standard Firefox. LibreWolf removes telemetry and disables DRM (e.g. Widevine/EME) by default. Notable changes include: * Removal of telemetry; uBlock Origin installed by default, along with various privacy-oriented settings. * Private search engines enabled by default (e.g. DuckDuckGo, Searx). * Automatic cookie deletion on browser exit. * dFPI (Total Cookie Protection) enabled by default. * Anti-fingerprinting measures using Tor Browser's RFP. * Default use of en-US locale to reduce fingerprinting surface. * WebGL disabled by default. * Location services disabled by default. * DNS and WebRTC proxying where supported. * Disabled search and form history by default. * Use of CRLs instead of OCSP to avoid potential tracking. * HTTPS-only mode enabled by default. * Hardened TLS configuration. * Prompts for file save location. * Mitigations for IDN homograph attacks (e.g. Cyrillic "е"). * JavaScript disabled in the built-in PDF viewer.
