libpcap-1.10.7

packet capture library

Back to search · Project homepage

Description

The Packet Capture library provides a high level interface to packet capture systems. All packets on the network, even those destined for other hosts, are accessible through this mechanism. It also supports saving captured packets to a 'savefile', and reading packets from a 'savefile'. This package provides tcpdump.org's version of libpcap for software which is unable to use the standard libpcap provided as part of OpenBSD. It is installed to a non-standard location to prevent software from picking it up unintentionally.
